The 1000th Clio RS Gordini rolled off the assembly line
at Renault's Alpine plant in Dieppe, France earlier this
month and the good news is that Renault South Africa has
confirmed that the Clio Renault Sport Gordini will
be launched locally this May.
The newcomer will take its place alongside sibling,
the Twingo RS Gordini, which took South Africa by storm
following its local debut in October 2010. One of the
hottest hatches on the road today, Clio RS Gordini is
sure to thrill and delight motor sport enthusiasts and
the general driving public alike. It is due to launch
at the Renault Knysna Hillclimb event which takes on
21 and 22 May.
Gordini's remarkable and proud motorsport heritage
dates back to the 1950s and is arguably one of the most
legendary names in motorsport. The recent revival of
the Gordini label by Renault Sport Technologies pays
homage to its legacy.
With a pedigree of such historic stature, Clio Renault
Sport Gordini's arrival is sure to raise the bar and
further broaden the appeal of Renault Sport in South
Africa.
